The company’s jewelry store is located in the Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, New York, NY 10022. As a reliable mobility equipment dealer in NY, DAY Elevator & Lift had an opportunity to make this client’s building more accessible with the quality products we offer.
The Challenge
It is critical for commercial facilities to comply with ADA Standards, providing safe access for guests with disabilities. Customers with disabilities may need special assistance to access the store’s goods and services. This particular jewelry store required us to improve access in two areas – at the main entrance and the basement.
The Solution
Our team reviewed the building and determined the right mobility device model that would facilitate entry into the building and access to the basement. After careful consideration of all aspects, we installed a vertical platform lift for the main entrance of the building. A vertical platform lift allows wheelchair users to access raised decks and porches in multi-level buildings without leaving the comfort of their assistive device.
Basement access was improved with the installation of Savaria Orion LULA elevator that is ideal for public buildings for up to three stories. This system comes with a load capacity of 1400 lbs and has all the features of a high-rise elevator such as automatic sliding doors and commercial fixtures.
