Overview
MetLife Stadium is an American sports stadium that is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This is the only NFL stadium, shared by two clubs – the New York Jets and New York Giants. The stadium now has seating for 82,500 people, including 10,005 club seats and approximately 218 luxury suites, making it the second-largest NFL stadium in terms of total seating. DAY Elevator & Lift, the largest NY based mobility equipment dealer installed four vertical platform lifts in this stadium, making it more accessible to disabled as well as elderly spectators.
The Challenge
In planning the new state-of-the-art facility and in keeping with the designer’s vision for a total entertainment experience, stages were constructed at all (4) main entrance areas to the Met Life stadium. With the construction of a new football stadium for the NY Jets and NY Giants featuring fan interaction at all entrances on a raised stage, ADA-compliant accessibility was required through design and planning with a team of architects and engineers with direction from Day Elevator & Lift.
We were contacted to install four platform lifts that will provide step-free access to the entrance areas of these four stages.
The Solution
We were able to design 4 vertical platform lift installations for all stage areas. With our professional installation support, accessibility was just the press of a button away. The vertical wheelchair lifts we offer have a unique drive and platform design that makes them suitable to meet any type of architectural requirement. These lifts also accommodate several safety features such as mechanical emergency brakes, slack cable switch, keyed continuous pressure controls, electronic free relay logic controller, and keyed call station. The client was happy with the thoroughly professional installation support we provided.
