The Challenge
As per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, it is critical for any business, including restaurants to make their facilities fully accessible for disabled people. This is to ensure that people with disabilities enjoy a good quality of life in public spaces.
G.W. Grill called us for a permanent solution that would ensure ADA access to the second floor in their dining area. The solution needed to be one that provides wheelchair users as well as others with mobility issues easy and comfortable access to the second floor.
The Solution
Our technical professionals have years of experience in helping customers choose the right accessibility solution that meets their individual needs. Our team studied the building and the client’s specific requirements. They installed Savaria’s Delta inclined platform lift that can carry a passenger along with a wheelchair up and down a single flight of straight stairs by travelling along a rail system mounted alongside the stairs. The folding platform, available in ADA-compliant size, allows easy access to stairs when the lift is not being used, making this a popular choice for commercial and public buildings. It has a non-skid platform with side safety flaps, over-speed governor, manual lowering device, keyed access for call stations and emergency stop button.
