The Challenge
Our client, Interior Alterations, Inc, is dedicated to building and renovating townhouses, apartments and landmark buildings and has been serving the industry for over 40 years. They wanted us to install a custom elevator in a 14.15 million dollar home in New York.
The Solution
Our team installed Savaria’s Infinity residential elevator in the luxury home at 15 Willow St, Brooklyn, NY 11201. The Infinity luxury elevator is a great addition to this grandly proportioned Greek Revival 2-family townhouse on the exceptionally bucolic corner of Willow and Middagh Streets in historic north Brooklyn Heights.
The Infinity is an ideal option for both new and existing homes. With its wide range of customizable options – from construction configuration to fixtures – this elevator can easily blend with any kind of home décor. Its precision hydraulic drive system provides a smooth, quiet ride. Safety features include manual emergency lowering button, lockable control panel, elevator door interlocks, emergency alarm and stop switch, in-use indicator lights on hall station, and slack rope safety system.
Though the project faced several construction related delays, we were able to complete the installation within a year and 5 months from the check in date, which is less than 6 months from delivery date. Construction delays occurred due to a break in a major waterline. We had to store the unit on site until the other construction was complete. While the unit was on site, some of the tradesmen were not careful with our equipment and we had to replace and repair parts to ensure proper operation of the unit.
